Palm Springs Residents Asbestos Concern
Residents of a Palm Springs neighborhood voice concern over asbestos scare.
MesotheliomaCancerNews.com – The City Hall of Palm Springs, California plans to address concerns of residents fearing asbestos contamination in a local neighborhood. As reported on Mesothelioma.com, the residents of the city’s Rosa Parks Road neighborhood found the sight of men posting asbestos warning signs around the area last year, while dressed in hazardous material suits alarming.
As noted in the report, many residents reportedly questioned the workers last April about the signs, however, they were told to leave without being given any further information. Claims have been made regarding the subsequent development of respiratory and other health issues in residents of the neighborhood over the last few months. The resident’s concerns will now be addressed by City Hall.
Exposure to asbestos can lead to the development of several diseases including mesothelioma, for which there is currently no cure. Symptoms of these conditions often do not surface until months or years after contact with toxic asbestos fibers, when there is some progression of the disease.
