Comic Sans Font Ban Movement Grows
A movement to ban the widely used font has increased over time.
A movement to ban a comic book inspired typeface is steadily growing. As reported by the Wall Street Journal, Comic Sans has garnered negative attention from individuals seeking to ban it due to its widespread use.
As noted in the report, the font, created by Vincent Connare 15 years ago, is used in a range of projects and operations including Disney advertisements, emails for businesses, signs in hospitals, porn websites, and other projects. The movement to ban it has been ongoing for approximately ten years.
Connare is quoted in the Wall Street Journal report as stating of his controversial creation, “If you love it, you don’t know much about typography… if you hate it, you really don’t know much about typography, either, and you should get another hobby.”
