Former Plant Workers Provided Screening for Asbestos
Former workers at a plant in Australia are being provided screening for asbestos exposure.
Mesothelioma Cancer News – Former employees of an Australian plant have been offered asbestos screening. As reported by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), individuals who’ve worked at the north-west Tasmania plant for Cement Australia are being called on to participate in an asbestos screening program for free.
As noted in the report, new owners of The Goliath cement plant recently released an advertisement in a Tasmanian newspaper for the testing which includes that for lung function and chest x-rays. The results of the no cost testing reportedly may be used by an area university for a medical research study related to exposure to asbestos.
Asbestos exposure can lead to serious health conditions such as mesothelioma cancer and asbestosis. Mesothelioma Cancer News provides news and information on asbestos related diseases and asbestos attorneys in the US.
