Woman Questions Federal Asbestos Conspiracy Indictment
A woman in Sherrill, NY is questioning her inclusion in an asbestos related indictment.
Mesothelioma Cancer News (Syracuse, New York) – A Sherrill woman is questioning why she has been included in a federal indictment. As reported by the Observer-Dispatch, Barbara DuChene has been named among a group of employees of an environmental company in Syracuse, NY accused of falsifying asbestos cleanup records. However, her alleged role in the conspiracy has yet to be explained.
DuChene’s attorney George Hildebrandt is quoted in the report as stating of the matter, “I don’t know why she’s named in this indictment, and I believe she feels she’s being unfairly accused… This is a woman who has worked hard her whole life, who has a family, and who has lived an exceptionally law-abiding life, so the threat of just a felony conviction, aside from any punishment, I think that’s certainly very serious for her.”
Hildebrandt is further quoted as stating, “I would think that the allegation against her is not particularly substantial, and I’m looking to see if there’s anything further beyond what I know that would justify that charge.”
