Widow Suing for Record Asbestos Damages
A widow is suing over the death of her husband from an asbestos related disease.
Mesothelioma Cancer News (UK) – The widow of a man who died from an asbestos related disease is suing for a record amount. As reported by the Evening Chronicle, Carole Devoy is suing for one million pounds for loss of companionship as well as loss of a full-time carer, after the passing of her husband Alex Devoy.
As noted in the report, Mr. Devoy’s death has been attributed to asbestosis and mesothelioma, which he contracted after being exposed to asbestos while in dockyards and the Merchant Navy. Mrs. Devoy, who has Parkinson’s Disease was forced to pay for professional caretakers after her husband’s death.
Carole Devoy is quoted by the Evening Chronicle as stating, “We thought he would have about two years to live, but he didn’t even have six months… Naturally I feel angry, you can’t help wanting to ask why have they taken him away from us?”
