Property Owners Pay Thousands for Asbestos Removal

The high costs associated with asbestos cleanup on properties leave some homes in decay.

Mesothelioma Cancer News (Pueblo, Colorado) – The high costs of cleaning up asbestos has led some property owners to abandon their property and risk intervention by government agencies. As reported by The Pueblo Chieftain, many in the town of Pueblo are faced with the possibility of having to renovate their homes due to material containing asbestos being used to build them prior to legislation regulating its use.

The issue has reportedly become a concern for many who do not have the thousands of dollars it may cost for necessary renovations. As noted in the report, major renovation projects in the city require Regional Building Commission permits, which in turn require permit holders to obtain an asbestos inspection.
