Asbestos finding in hospital after ceiling collapse
Asbestos has been found in a Castel hospital following a partial roof collapse on the building.
UK (MesotheliomaCancer News.com) – Asbestos has reportedly been confirmed to be present at a UK hospital following testing prompted by the partial collapse of the building’s roof. As reported by BBC News, an analysis of samples taken from the Meadows Day Centre shows the presence of asbestos. The roof of the hospital partially collapsed last month during a heavy rainstorm, and concerns about asbestos prompted the subsequent testing.
Officials have reportedly taken steps to ensure public safety by not allowing further entrance into the building. The centre will reportedly be moved to another location. As noted by the BBC, the Health and Social Services Department is currently deciding on further steps that need to be taken.
