U.K. (Mesothelioma Cancer News) – Warnings have been issued to thieves targeting a demolition site in Hull. As reported by BBC News, police are warning thieves targeting the derelict former office of Heron Frozen Foods of the dangers of entering the site, which contains a substantial amount of asbestos.
A spokesperson for the police is quoted in the report as stating of the thefts, “Although the site has clear signs warning people of the presence of asbestos, it has been entered on several occasions… As well as asbestos, there is danger from a structurally unsound building.”
As noted by BBC News, the site was recently broken into when thieves reportedly stole piping and wiring from the area. Authorities have advised that those who enter the premises without authorization are putting themselves at risk of health complications.
