Former college library asbestos removal begins

Portland, Oregon (Mesothelioma Cancer News) – Asbestos removal at a former library at Linfield College has reportedly begun. As reported by The Linfield Review, officials hope to have complete removal and renovations to the building take place during the summer.
Glenn Ford, vice president for finance and administration, is quoted in the report as stating of the plans, “We are hopeful that construction will begin in the summer of 2010… At this time, it is unknown if the project will start this year or at a later date.”
Ford is further quoted as stating, “We are striving to identify commitments for the entire project prior to construction.”
As noted by the Linfield Review, expected renovations will include work to classrooms, offices, and other areas. The building will reportedly be the school’s first certified Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design building.
