When all demographic groups represented in the US are compared for cancer related deaths, the American Cancer Society finds that African American’s come in at the top of the list. Studies showed that African American men had a 34% higher death rate than Caucasian men, while African American women had a 17% higher death rate than Caucasian women. Differences may be tied to poverty and access to care.
