A new form of Mouth Cancer treatment is being developed from a genetically engineered strain of the herpes virus. Doctors inject the virus into the cancer cells causing them to burst. To date, 17 patients that have been injected with this new form of Mouth Cancer treatment and have shown little to no side effects. After a two year time period the patients have remained healthy with no signs of the cancer returning. This cancer treatment is done in conjunction with chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
