Sadly, the reoccurrence of pancreatic cancer is common with patients who have gone through removal surgery. Specialists claim it is due to microscopic cancer cells left behind that cannot be detect. Currently doctors are working on a vaccine that would activate a protein which trains the immune system to attack remaining pancreatic cancer cells. There is much work left to be done on this vaccine, however it brings pancreatic cancer patients one step closer to a final end to the disease.
