Asbestos Related Diseases Leading Cause of Workplace Death in British Columbia

Canadian health officials have reported that asbestos related diseases, like Mesothelioma Cancer, have become the number one cause of workplace death in British Columbia. Annually, there are about 50 known asbestos related workplace deaths in British Columbia but officials believe the actually number to be much higher. Asbestos can be found in many Canadian homes built prior to the 1980’s and is still present in imported vehicle brake linings.
