Smoking may cause more the eight different cancers including lung cancer. Since 2005, the number of adults in the US who smoke regularly remains at one in five. The CDC reports that states took in $25 billion from tobacco taxes and tobacco litigation, but only spent about three cents of every dollar on anti-smoking programs. If the amount spent increased from three to fifteen cents per dollar collected it is believed that the United States would see a decrease in the number of smokers.
