A Slimmer Waist May Prevent Death from Colon Cancer

A new study showed healthy seniors who have normal weights are more likely to survive colon cancer. In that study, 1,100 women suffering from colon cancer were monitored over 10 years and doctors found heavier women were more likely to die from the disease than thinner women in the same age group. Many other studies have linked obesity to increase risk of developing colon cancer but this is the first to indicate weight as a factor in dying from the disease.
