Yoga’s Health Benefits for Cancer Patients

According to the National Cancer Institute, nearly half of cancer patient have trouble sleeping. This may be caused by being in pain, certain medications or cancer treatments. A study of cancer survivors was conducted by the University of Rochester. Cancer survivors with trouble sleeping who were placed on a Yoga program that included stretching, breathing exercises and meditation reported better sleep quality and less need for sleeping medications than those who did not participate in Yoga.
