In circumstances like this, our system has failed us and our youth. There is no conceivable reason why this mother should be so horribly punished for trying to do what any good mother would do for their children. In addition, she cannot achieve her dream of being a teacher, and giving her children a better life out of the housing projects because of the felony charge. This is beyond sad and disappointing. Our justice system should do what’s right and dismiss all charges.
